This tour includes the dazzling Winter Light Trail at The Alnwick Garden, a visit to Beamish and Cragside House beautifully decked out for Christmas.This trio is sure to leave our senses buzzing and our hearts filled with festive cheer.

Copthorne Hotel, Newcastle

Located next to the River Tyne, the Copthorne Hotel is proud of its warm welcome to coach groups. It’s a 20-minute walk to the city centre and has easy access to all road links. All 156 bedrooms boast river views and are comfortable and well decorated and include TV, telephone and tea/coffee making facilities. The Quay7 restaurant overlooks the river and is modern, light and airy, whilst the bar has a sports-bar feel with comfortable seating. There is also an outside terrace that makes the most of the quayside location.

Day 1

Today we make our way to the Copthorne Hotel in Newcastle which overloooks the River Tyne. On arrival enjoy a welcome cup of tea or coffee whilst your bags are delivered to your room. Time to then relax before Dinner.

Day 2

After enjoying a full cooked breakfast we visit the National Trust Cragside House, a ground-breaking Victorian mansion where innovation meets elegance. Powered by hydroelectricity, driven by hydraulics, and equipped with the latest 19th-century gadgets, this pioneering residence redefined modern living. Here we will enjoy the festive decorations and have time to explore. Then we make our way to Alnwick Gardens where at dusk the gardens come alive and we will enjoy the festive light trail, before returning back to our hotel for dinner.

Day 3

We make our way after breakfast to Beamish Open Air Museum. Beamish is a living, breathing museum, where history is experienced. Walk through historic streets, meet costumed engagers, and watch traditional skills in action. Free time to explore and plenty of shopping or places to eat.

Day 4

A day at leisure. Maybe explore the city centre which boasts some of Englands finest Georgian architecture, do some shopping in the many big brand names in Eldon Square or the more independent shops of Grainger Town or take a relaxing stroll down by the river and quayside. There is plenty to see and do in Newcastle.

Following a hearty breakfast, we make our way home.
