This morning, we make our way to Poole ferry terminal and take the fast ferry to Guernsey, where we transfer by coach to our hotel. just in time for dinner.
B, DDay3
After a full cooked breakfast this morning, we take the ferry to the second smallest of the Channel Islands, Sark. With no cars on Sark, we will be met at the harbour by a horse-drawn carriage complete with an experienced local carriage driver. Settle aboard this vintage form of transport and enjoy a memorable 1-hour tour of the island. Follow quaint rural lanes, peek into private gardens, soak up the tranquil atmosphere, and take in sea views that stretch to the shores of mainland France, all as a driver offers insight into Sark's history and customs, and answers any questions you might have. After disembarking, we return to Guernsey by ferry and enjoy the rest of the day to spend at our leisure.
B, DDay 4
This morning, we board our coach for a half-day guided tour of Guernsey. Along the way, we call at The Little Chapel, possibly the world's smallest chapel. Originally created in 1914 as a miniature version of the famous grotto and basilica at Lourdes, this tiny landmark is magical for its mosaics: its interior and exterior are coated in seashells, pebbles, and broken china. We also visit the German-built Pleinmont Point naval observation tower. We then head to Sausmarez Manor and Gardens, for a guided tour of the American-styled colonial house, home to the Sausmarez family.
Day 5
Today we start with a guided tour of Castle Cornet and its museums. Whilst uncovering the rich history of this 800-year-old island castle, which guards the harbour of St Peter Port - Guernsey's main harbour - we soak up the spectacular panoramic views it affords back over St Peter Port itself. After exploring the castle, we have the option of then either returning to our hotel by coach, or of remaining in St Peter Port, where we can enjoy strolling around the beautiful Candie Gardens and Guernsey Museum before returning to our hotel using the local bus service.
B, DDay 6
After breakfast, we make our way home again
