Day 1
Travel to The Riverside Hotel in Cumbria.
DDay 2
This morning, head north towards to Lake Ullswater for a relaxing cruise. On then to the Cumbrian town of Penrith, rich in history and hub of the Eden Valley. This afternoon, spend time in Ambleside and see Waterhead, where the sweeping views across Lake Windermere and fells cannot be missed.
Day 3
A leisurely morning beginning with a short heritage rail journey from Haverthwaite to Lakeside. No visit to the Lake District would be complete without a cruise, and it is from here you will sail across Lake Windermere to Bowness. After disembarking, explore this popular holiday village at leisure. There are cafes, restaurants, shops and places to visit, such as the World of Beatrix Potter attraction (admission not included).
B, DDay 4
Take the scenic drive past Lake Windermere, Thirlmere Reservoir then Bassenthwaite Lake to the Shed Distillery where a tour and tasting of their own whisky, gin or vodka awaits. Depart for time at leisure in Keswick, which is surrounded by some of the area's highest and most beautiful peaks. In the afternoon, spend time in Grasmere where, time allowing and for an additional cost, it is possible to arrange admission to Dove Cottage and the Wordsworth Museum.
